WHY CHOOSE LCA
Christ is in the center of all we do. Our faculty and staff are Christian believers and teach from a biblical world view. Our textbooks teach all subjects from a Christian perspective and we openly pray with, and for, our students.
Our test score averages are higher than the state and national scores. At Lakeland, our students are able to reach their full potential through high standards and individual attention.
At Lakeland, we create a safe physical, mental, social, and spiritual environment for your child. The world we live in is filled with evil influences. Through Christ, we create a safe and disciplined place where your child can feel free to be themselves.
It may sound like a cliché but at Lakeland, we truly are one big family. Parents really get involved and get to know the other parents and students as well as the faculty and staff. You are not alone at Lakeland. You and your family are special to us.
Your child is not just another face in the crowd or an ISTEP score. Because we are smaller, our teachers can give each student the individual attention they need to reach their full potential.
Opportunities for Involvement
From choir and band to athletics and community ministry, your child will be able to participate in activities that they may not have had the opportunity to in a larger public school.
THE LCA DIFFERENCE
Lakeland Christian Academy believes that each student is a unique individual, created in God’s image, for the purpose of glorifying God. Lakeland’s goal is to help students develop their abilities to fulfill that purpose.
Lakeland Christian Academy believes that, by the cooperative effort of the home, church, and school, each student is better able to achieve his/her full potential. These three entities: home, church, and school are necessary to prepare the student with security, spiritual development, and academic growth.
Lakeland Christian Academy believes that God has given parents the responsibility to teach and train their children. LCA partners with parents by working closely with them in this process.
All Lakeland families are expected to regularly attend a local Bible-believing church. LCA students are encouraged to regularly attend Sunday School, church youth activities or to have some ministry within their church, when possible.
Students are expected to follow an established set of guidelines for the purpose of training and discipline. These guidelines include standards for personal behavior and dress. Students are expected to show respect for each other and for those in authority. The adopted dress standard is designed to teach students acceptable standards of modesty and decorum.
When working with students, LCA seeks to find the source of a problem rather than merely treating the symptoms. Instead, we display personal concern in solving problems by working closely with parents and seeking God’s wisdom.
Lakeland receives no monetary assistance from the federal or state governments for its operational expenses. All monies used for the operation of the school are received from student tuition, monetary gifts, and grants.
